The App settings page is where you configure how Variant Descriptions King reads and displays your product descriptions on the storefront. There are two main things to set up here — the heading format and the tabs and accordions layout settings.
Heading format for tabs and variants
Select the heading tag that matches the heading format you have used in your product descriptions. The app uses this setting to identify where each tab, accordion, or variant-specific section begins in the description.
You can choose from H1 to H6 — whichever heading level you have used in your product descriptions. For example, if you have formatted your accordion titles as H3 headings in the product editor, select H3: Heading 3 here.
This setting is critical. If the heading format selected here does not match the heading format used in your product descriptions, the app will not be able to detect and organize your content correctly. Make sure both match before enabling the app.

Tabs and accordions layout settings
Customize how your tabs and accordions look on the storefront to match your store's design. A live preview is available on this page so you can see how your changes will look before they go live.
Style Choose between two visual styles for your accordions and tabs:
Outlined — a clean bordered style
Filled — a solid filled style
Border color Set the color of the borders around your accordion and tab elements.
Title color Set the color of the accordion and tab title text.
Title case Choose how the accordion and tab titles are displayed. Available options:
All Caps
Proper Case
Sentence case
None
Collapse icons Choose the icon displayed on accordions to indicate they can be expanded or collapsed. Available icon styles:
Plus / Minus ( + / — )
Circle
Chevron ( ∧ / ∨ )
Title font size Set the font size of the accordion and tab titles. You can choose Auto to let the app inherit the font size from your theme, or manually set a specific size from 1px upward.
Display style by device
Choose how your product description sections appear on different devices. You can independently set the display style for each device type:
Desktop devices — choose between Accordions or Tabs
Mobile devices — choose between Accordions or Tabs
Tablet devices — choose between Accordions or Tabs
Use Accordions for a compact, scroll-friendly experience on smaller screens, and Tabs for easy navigation on larger desktop screens.
First accordion behavior
Keep the first accordion open Toggle this on if you want the first accordion to remain open by default when a customer lands on the page. Keeping it open ensures customers immediately see key product details without needing to click to expand it.
Display tabs and accordions on other pages
Add tabs or accordions to additional pages on your store beyond the product page. You can select from available pages including:
Homepage
Collection pages
Contact page
And more
Click Add Pages to select the pages where you want tabs and accordions to appear.
Share online store password
If your Shopify store is password protected, you can share your store password with the Variant Descriptions King support team here. This allows the team to access your storefront and provide better support when troubleshooting issues.
